Project management - academic and industry perspective

The first ADVOCATE network training workshop was hosted at the University of Sheffield on 17/18 November 2011 on the theme of Project management - academic and industry perspective. The workshop was attended by 13 fellows and external researchers. Over the two days the participants were introduced to the principles and application of effective project management for research and commercial activities. This included group-based exercises in the organisation of an international research conference and critical path analysis supporting decision-making for remediation. The sessions were faciliated by University of Sheffield staff and David Hall (Golder Associates UK Ltd) and Phil Morgan (Sirius Group UK), both associated industry partners in the ADVOCATE network.
